The Wounded Warrior Project provides support for severely wounded military personnel and their families as they begin the process of recovery. Beginning with a backpack of emergency supplies and phone card that is given at the receiving medical unit, the Wounded Warrior Project provides emotional support in a traumatic moment. This support is followed by guidance for the wounded warrior and their family as they work their way through the support services of the military and their home community. Big Island Film Festival Executive Director, Leo Sears, is a twice wounded Marine from the Vietnam era and understands first hand the benefit of support.

You are invited to participate in our Silent Auction for the Wounded Warrior Project by donating an item or gift certificate from your business, favorite shop or restaurant. The Silent Auction for the Wounded Warrior Project is held annually on the final day of the festival immediately prior to the Best of the Fest. This year it will be held from 4 to 7pm on Sunday, May 16, 2010. Wonderful items are offered each year at every price range, so please share your Aloha with our charity event.
